shark. mark 3!!!!!!

Another one guysss!! yep the one in my previous post wasnt good enough for me so i had to do another one :) hope you like it its inspired by kurt schwitters collages...
for this image i scanned in scrunched up lined paper which i flattened out before scanning and an image of a tonal fish drawing i had done in another class.
i lay the lined paper in my first layer then created a box over the top, i made this box blue and softened the transparency so the lined paper became clear enough to see through.
i placed my fish image on top after live sketching it, and for the brush strokes i changed the type of brush stroke in the settings in illustrator and free handed some wavy lines to look like sea weed.

shark. mark 2

i have created another fish collage to back up my other one in this one i got my scanned fish image and edited it so it was just a black outline then Googled blood splatters put this behind the fish outline and also put the word shark in and made the transparency 25% so it gave it a subtle feel.

our theme produce

These images are from my typography lesson here are images on a few different types of font and typography images an different styles using layers and different effects...

octopus hair!!

i was that happy with the outcome of 'fish hair' that i decided to do another one. looking at andrew banneckers images i found another one to work on i did this image based on an octopus here is the final image below and andrew banneckers version below that image.

andrew bannecker!

i love andrew banneckers work here are a few images that i liked, i found them on google...

fish drawings created inside and outside of college :)

here are a few drawings i have created in college of fish... the image directly below is a tonal drawing of a fish
the next image is a coloured pencil study of a crab and below that image is an ink study of the same crab

the next image is the ink image again only this time it is a photocopy, as you can see it doesnt look anything like the one above, this is because when it was photocopied it was moved along the scanner to create an abstract effect.

The Shark

GREAT! forgot my memory stick -.- (<<my not so impressed face) but I managed to produce a pretty nice image without it. I scanned in an image of a fish drawing i had done weeks before in another lesson and because of the tone i thought it would be good if i played around with the live trace, a list came up and i chose ink sketch, this left me with a back sketchy outline which i found quite effective. i put a background of a coral reef behind the fish, i wanted to portray a message that fish scales are shiny and reflect the sea and everything in. To make the image more subtle i found a poem on Google, this poem is about a shark which i thought went with my image very well as my fish image is a lot larger than the scale of things in the background this shows a shark oversees anything in the ocean and is top of the food chain. I copy and pasted it into another layer of my fish image, to keep the image interesting i changed the font, font sizes and also the transparency, i then copy and pasted it a few times and over lapped the poem together so you could only see part of the poem so it gave you a subtle idea what the poem was about below is my image i created and below that is also the poem i used in my image.

A treacherous monster is the Shark
He never makes the least remark.

And when he sees you on the sand,
He doesn't seem to want to land.

He watches you take off your clothes,
And not the least excitement shows.

His eyes do not grow bright or roll,
He has astonishing self-control.

He waits till you are quite undressed,
And seems to take no interest.

And when towards the sea you leap,
He looks as if he were asleep.

But when you once get in his range,
His whole demeanor seems to change.

He throws his body right about,
And his true character comes out.

It's no use crying or appealing,
He seems to lose all decent feeling.

After this warning you will wish
To keep clear of this treacherous fish.

His back is black, his stomach white,
He has a very dangerous bite.

plenty more fish in the sea...

At the moment in CAD we are creating works of art based on fish. An i realised that the bar at the top of my blogger that i installed onto it is of FISH!! 10 tiny little goldfish, also when you click on the bar your mouse drops flakes of food :') hehe my point being is that it couldnt have been a better theme for the top of my blogger at this moment on!

A random blog about bees cuz their cool....

Honeybees are the only insects that produce food for humans.

Just a single hive contains approximately 40-45,000 bees!

During honey production periods, a bee's life span is about 6 weeks.
Honeybees visit about 2 million flowers to make one pound of honey
A bee travels an average of 1600 round trips in order to produce one ounce of honey; up to 6 miles per trip. To produce 2 pounds of honey, bees travel a distance equal to 4 times around the earth.

Bees fly an average of 13-15 mph.
Bees from the same hive visit about 225,000 flowers per day. One single bee usually visits between 50-1000 flowers a day, but can visit up to several thousand.

Queens will lay almost 2000 eggs a day at a rate of 5 or 6 a minute. Between 175,000-200,000 eggs are laid per year.
The average hive temperature is 93.5 degrees.
Bees have two stomachs - one stomach for eating and the other special stomach is for storing nectar collected from flowers or water so that they can carry it back to their hive.
The bees use their honeycomb cells to raise their babies in, and to store nectar, honey, pollen and water.
Honey has natural preservatives and bacteria can't grow in it.
The average worker bee makes about 1/12 th of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime.

final fish image >(((,")

When I looked back at my fish hair image I realized it wasn't quite finished, I needed a background! So I went on Google and typed in water backgrounds… it came up with a vast amount of water backgrounds, one problem I had was that most of them had watermarks on them!! When I finally found one I used it in my background, but it didn’t quite go with the image, it was too bright and needed to be subtle. Firstly I changed the transparency of the background this made it look foggy and you couldn’t see the bubbles I drew around the head, so as a result I had to change the colour of the bubbles, this didn’t make the background any less foggy though so I kept the background solid colour (100%). I changed the transparency of the bubbles around the head instead, this worked really well as then it looked like the bubbles were almost clear just like real bubbles!!!

Here is my final finished fish drawing inspired by Andrew Bannecker.

i like to read... so what is my favourite book??

My favourite books are the Hush Hush sagas written by Becca Fitzpatrick, the book is about a typical girl called Nora Grey who falls in love with a guy called Patch Cipriano. but what Nora doesnt know is patch is keeping a deep dark secret locked beneath the strange scars on his back... who and most importantly what is patch? and why is his life drawn to Nora, an ordinary girl? you'll have to find out by reading it yourself ;) what my point is i love the art work on the cover of these books there so thrilling but exciting at the same time! its almost like the picture is asking you a question. on the first book the image is of an angel falling from heaven this angel on the front is patch Cipriano but at first glance you ask yourself who is this fallen angel and what did he do that was so sinister god would have no choice but to cast him down to walk the earth for the rest of his life? the image is also dark and daring with only a bit of red. does this symbolize anything in particular in the book?
The second book is called crescendo and on the front of the cover is an image of a girl looking into the distance, dropping a feather... the feather is also a red colour. this image makes you ask the question who is that girl and who is she looking/waiting for? again the dark colours are sinister which is what makes the book exciting to look at, we can guess from the last book that this girl on the front would be Nora Grey but for her to be holding/ dropping a feather makes you wonder what happened to patch and why id nora connected to him in some way?
i have not read the next book silence but i hope to be getting it for Christmas this year... this makes it so much better for me to Analise the front cover because i scream to myself WHY IS PATCH CARRYING NORA? WHAT HAPPENED TO HER!!!???? this makes me want to read it more than i was when i was only thinking of this book.
all i can say about these books is that they are a billion times more exciting than what the covers make it out to be!!!!! so i suggest you get reading it now. i am also waiting for the books to be made into films which i hope to happen soon enough. :D

Fish Hair >(((".)

We had to create an image that was influenced by Andrew Bannecker, but it had to be based on fish... I chose one of Banneckers images and changed it... alot. This is my final image followed by the original image by Andrew Bannecker. The second image down is called cough medicine.
